EnigmaGroup seems down.
Does someone have additional information?

Enigma Group is back and from what I can tell they were able to recover most everything. Of course, I don't have any inside knowledge so there might be a few missing bits somewhere.

According to a forum thread (and Facebook wall mentioned there) it turned out there was nothing wrong with the HD. So it appears no loss of data.

Public notice: EnigmaGroup has done a big redesign. All challenges have been reset and the point system has been changed. Some challenges will only be available if you have a membership. WeChall support is currently not available, but should be coming.

Well, that's not exactly good news. A few years ago I used to be very active solving their puzzles there and I had solved something around 50%.

Only a few weeks ago I checked and all the scores have been erased.

If you want to acess some categories now, you have to gain any special membership, and I think it goes along with a fee now.

I've been told that if you solve all the "free" challenges, you'll get enough points to unlock the other challenges.

So what is the thing with this site? It seems that the site has taken away the api for points. Is it still somehow possible to link scores to wechall?

According to this thread (june 2017) the admin dont intend on coding wechall scoring
Unable to view resources without paying an expensive membership and few free challenges...

Bad state of mind...

Welcome.

After nearly 20 years of The Enigma Group being a place for security enthusiasts like myself, We have decided to Close forever.

In the rack at the DC, a short destroyed the motherboard, all hard drives, including our master backup drive. We lost everything.



I will not abandon everyone who has been contributors and faithful members. I will be replacing the site with some information on web security, free to all. It will be for research, and resources to help you along you way.


I have seen many people come and go. I have seen young men, turn into full grown men and complete college in this field, using our mission as motivation.


I have had the best friendships in my life, right here with you. You have learned from me, and I have learned from all of you. I had a great run. You were here to experience it with me. You all will always be my friends.



One final lesson from The Enigma Group: Never give up. No matter how many people talk down to you. No matter how many people think you are wasting your time. No matter how many times you get stuck, fail, and think that it just cant be done. Fuck Them. You only fail, if you quit. Follow your brain, Trust your Gut. Never Give up.
