Hello, I'm rayaseiren.

On September 23, I became an Administrator of WeChall.

For me, this is more than simply receiving another title.

I joined WeChall in 2013 as a player.

Back then, I looked at the names above me on the leaderboard and wondered how far I could go.

Thirteen years later, I find myself standing in a very different position.

Not only as a player.

Not only as someone who reached the top of the leaderboard.

But as someone who now has the responsibility to help maintain the platform itself.

01 / FROM PLAYER TO KEEPER
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

For many years, WeChall was a map that I explored.

Now I have been given the opportunity to help maintain that map.

There is something meaningful about that transition.

A player asks:

Where does this path lead?
```

An administrator eventually has to ask:

Will this path still exist for the next player?
```

Leaderboards change.

Players come and go.

Platforms appear and disappear.

But someone has to keep the infrastructure running, preserve what is worth preserving, repair what breaks, and prepare the platform for what comes next.

Becoming an administrator does not mean I intend to stop playing.

I still enjoy competition.

I still enjoy strange challenges.

I still enjoy spending far too much time following a path that may lead nowhere.

That part of me has not changed.

But I now see the ecosystem from another angle as well.

The challenge author.

The maintainer.

The administrator.

The person fixing something at an unreasonable hour because somewhere in the world another player is trying to solve it.

Those roles matter too.

───[ 03 / PRESERVE, MODERNIZE, CONTINUE ]──────────────

WeChall has existed for a long time.

That history is valuable.

I do not believe modernization requires erasing the character of an old platform.

The goal should be to preserve what made the place worth remembering while improving the parts necessary for it to continue.

Old code can be modernized.

Infrastructure can be improved.

Development workflows can become easier.

New contributors can join.

But the identity of the place should survive the process.

WeChall was never built by one person.

It exists because administrators, developers, challenge authors, site owners, players, and countless old-school users left something behind.

Some wrote code.

Some created challenges.

Some registered their own wargames.

Some answered questions.

Some kept servers alive.

Some simply continued playing long enough for the next generation to discover the place.

I have benefited from that work for many years.

Now I have the opportunity to contribute from the other side.

I am grateful to gizmore, tehron, and everyone who trusted me with this responsibility.

There will be plenty for me to learn.

There will probably be old code that makes me question my life choices.

There will certainly be things I break before I understand them.

That is fine.

I have spent enough years inside wargames to know that sometimes the only reasonable instruction is:

Welcome to the admins ray!

These are inspiring and moving words.
I also like to give something back from time to time.

This is far more constructive than only taking.
Together you are stronger, and a good Team can come up with great ideas and motivation.

And indeed it is about to educate the people.
If you are educated you can do better decisions, on your own, without asking any lifeform.

Or to put it in a speaking: Better a fighter in the garden, than a gardener in a fight.
Also it can feel **very** rewarding when you enlight others. :')

Be integer, transparent and kind to your community members, and i also mean the people you see everyday that are not part of your daily interaction.
Greet the people you meet and be friendly around you.

This is of course also good behavior on the internet.
I remember when the word "chattiquette" got overused.

I would love to recode wechall gwf3 in phpgdo or help the project in a different manner.

But one step after another.

Honestly, that's no small thing. I've been around long enough to know that sites like that don't hand out responsibilities lightly — it takes real skill, patience, and the kind of reputation you only build by actually showing up and helping people. You've clearly earned it.
Now instead of breaking things, you get to fix them. Just remember: with great power comes great responsibility, and a whole lot of people messaging you about broken challenges at 2am. 😄 Seriously though, well deserved. Crack a Asashi and enjoy the moment.
