I am happy to announce that a new site is participating and has been put into scoring now.
http://www.tools-and-design.com/ is a classic challenge site that currently offers 83 challenges, mostly focused on webhacking,
but you will also find extra sections for Logic, Programming and Cracking. Of course, some crypto and stegano is involved too.
I settled the basescore to 10,000 as i think all sites will get the 10k any soon (with one or two exceptions).
The site is integrated into a 3rd party software, and seems to have a few problems with usability. But that won`t stop a skilled player to solve the challenges there
- If you can`t get a challenge mark as solved, try to logout/login again. It seems that the first auto-login does not set all cookies, or there is another problem with the first auto-login.
- The username on the site seems case-sensitive. Keep that in mind when linking accounts
Last but not least i want to inform you that there have been problems with my email account on wechall.
It might be that some emails got lost due a spam-filter.
If you have sent me an email and i did not answer, please send the mail(s) again.
They currently offer around 80 challenges from the usual challenge categories and also "shell challenges" on 4 wargaming boxes
Beside that, they have a huge amount of users, a big download section, tutorials and links that should cover our beloved hobby very well.
While browsing i also spotted videos, podcasts and much more stuff to explore.
Many thanks to sykadul and Phreak for implementing the needed scripts.
Cobrutos challenge site listbrain.tk is now put into the rankings and is ready to get linked.
Cobruto is known to me from tbs, where he submitted at least one challenge and obviously learned a lot since that.
His Website looks solid and i can only assume there are some nice and unique challenges.
From today a very new challenge site is participating in the global ranking: Rosecode.
It offers math and programming challenges only, and new interesting problems shall be added frequently, so it is similar to project euler.
Most problems require you to code a bit to compute the correct answers, but knowledge of math is most often required to come up with an efficent algorithm that can solve a problem within reasonable time.
Many thanks go out to elasolova for writing the needed scripts, and i wish all others:
I am happy to announce that Black Zero has implemented the scoring and account scripts now, and is contained in the rankings
In case you wonder why it is displayed as 2nd "newest sites", this is because the database row was inserted some time ago already.
Black Zero unique, as they introduce a new challenge category here: Lock-Picking.
For solving Lock-Picking challs you need to create a video explaining your steps while picking a lock, which has to match certain criteria.
These videos can then be watched on the website by the users.
They also offer challs from many other sections, putting them in 3 main cateogeries: Hacking, Coding and LockPicking. (Hey the first two are favorites!)
Many thanks go out to TrueHacker for great feedback and implementing the needed scripts.
Have fun checking the site out and i wish you:
Our first hungarian site is in english and has 50 levels/challs, which seem fun, well chosen and creative.
To make progress on hax.tor you have to solve the challenges in a linear order, 1 by 1.
All in all we got very good response for the challenges there, where quite a few are from the "exploit" section.
Also every registered user gets an instant shell account on a fast co-located Debian Linux box.
Unlimited subdomains, custom virtualhosts, procmail, TOR connection tunnel and gigabit connectivity.
Many thanks go out to its admin haxtor for implementing the needed scripts.
Happy challenging and have fun checking out the site !
