Could this number represent the unread posts from threads we have posted on rather than the total? As this site expands and more people start posting on the forum, this number could get quite large and become more of an annoyance than any real use. Changing this will make it much easier to see when people have responded to threads of interest (ones you have posted in).

Perhaps Gizmore (he built all the forum stuff) could change it so that it shows 2 numbers, like [2/37] meaning 2 new posts in threads you posted in of a total of 37 new posts?
And make the "Unread Threads" table mark the rows of threads you have a post in some way?

Yes! That would work very nicely.
A thread status icon would be cool for marking the threads (read/unread). Even just highlighting it apart from the others.
